Frugal Friday

Hey y'all! For my first "frugal Friday" I think I am going to go with an easy, simple idea to save just a few cents...but those cents add up! If you coupon like I do you probably get quite a bit of toothpaste for free or nearly free (thanks to CVS). To be sure that I get every last drop of that free toothpaste I make my own toothpaste squeezers out of stuff that I have around the house. Yes, you could buy these things made out of plastic at CVS, but why not make it for free?
You will need: two Q-tips
two small rubber bands (clear, small ponytail holders would work)
*******place the Q-tips one on top of the other at the bottom of your tube, wrap a rubber band around each end of the Q-tips so that they can be "squeezed" up the tube as needed. I tried using nails for this, but that kinda hurt as I slid the contraption up the tube...go figure!

Another quick frugal idea I have is to make a watering "can" for your plants out of a 2-liter soda bottle. Hammer holes in the cap of the bottle with a hammer and nail. When you fill the bottle with water it comes out of the holes like a watering can-you may have to give the bottle a little squeeze. This is super neat since I can make one for each of my 4 younger kids (the older 2 are teenage girls-not into watering plants) and they can help me with the garden!
HAPPY FRUGALING!
