I am so sorry to both of you for being gone so long. Lol! Since school let out I have been so busy with the kids that I haven't had time to write a proper post. For my first post in two months I will start slow. I have kind of slacked off on my "couponing" (most coupons are for 'convenience' food) and have focused more on making things homemade. I just simply make out a menu based on what's on sale and also keep my freezer stocked with baked goodies and prepared foods. My freezer is one of the best things in my house! I have found THE BEST menu/grocery list on the web and here is the link http://www.theprojectgirl.com/2009/01/19/menu-planning-form-free-download/. I print this on both sides of paper & cross out the meals I have used. I also keep these in a folder for future reference. The only thing that would make it better is if it were organized by aisle for my Bi-Lo. I will have to work on that myself, I guess. Another great download that she has is a food journal. http://www.theprojectgirl.com/2009/06/26/food-journal-free-download/.
Now, I am sure that you two (lol) have been waiting on a great recipe from yours truly. These day I would have to say that our fave thing around is snow cones. I found a snow cone maker on clearance at Wal-Mart then just googled how to make the syrup (instead of buying it). I found the best recipe!
SNOW-CONE SYRUP
1.5 cups water
1.5 cups sugar
2 packs Kool-Aid (flavor of your choice)
****To make this yummy snow cone syrup boil water and sugar to make a simple syrup. Take off heat then add both packs of Kool-Aid. Stir until dissolved and let cool. Pour small amount of syrup over shaved ice and enjoy!

YAY! You're back :). I love the menu--I have no problem coooking. I have issues with trying to figure out WHAT to cook!
